HVS Auto-Recharging Dehydrating Breathers (ARDB) offer a variety
of benefits. Maintenance costs are
reduced by eliminating the need for periodic
replacement/disposal of saturated silica gel and installation
is quick and simple. Included easy-to-operate
timer allows variable
time-based settings for automatic regeneration
of silica gel to maintain peak drying performance. Configurations
available in single small (5000 gal. capacity), single large
(12,000 gal. capacity), dual large (24,000 gal. capacity) or
any combination of the two.
OPERATION
During regeneration, a heating element located inside the ARDB assembly heats the saturated silica gel, driving the moisture out. This moisture condenses on a polycarbonate tube, forming free water, which then flows down the tube and accumulates in the bottom casting. This accumulation causes the ball float to rise, allowing moisture to drip out the bottom vent. After all moisture has drained, the ball float reseals against the bottom casting, preventing air from flowing freely through the breather (consuming excess desiccant capacity).
Heating elements enclosed within the screen are designed to provide maximum surface contact with silica gel. To meet a variety of needs, we offer our ARDBs with a choice of cobalt chloride (blue) indicating silica gel or our new Enviro-Gel™, an environmentally-friendly enhanced performance silica gel.
